Press Conference Today

As you probably already know, the Mets had a press conference to introduce Johan Santana today. Many people were there including myself. This was probably the biggest trade for the Mets since Mike Piazza. Check out mets.com for some photos and more information.

Santana Jerseys on Sale

The Johan Santana jersey’s went on sale today. I got one, have you? I’m sure more people are interested in the Super Bowl Champion Apparel today  than the Johan  Santana jersey’s. After tomorrow’s Giants parade, I’m sure more people will switch over to baseball with Spring Training only in 9 days. Let’s get ready for [...]

Deal all done!

The Mets say that Johan Santana has passed his physical and is now a Met! I’ve called some stores and at first they said they had the shirts and they can’t sell them yet. Then I called again when he passed his physical, and they said that they won’t be available until Monday. I’ll have to wait until then [...]

Physical and done

Johan Santana needs to pass a physical today and the deal will be all done. The press conference will be on Monday or Tuesday. Jose Reyes (and probably some more Mets players) will be there.

Deal about $151 Million

John Heyman of Sports Illustrated just said on SNY that the deal is about $151. He mentions that even though it is similar to the Frank Viola deal, Johan Santana is a better pitcher. Also, he mentions that Johan is a 2nd half pitcher, except for last year when he was expecting to be traded [...]

Johan Santana’s Deal Over $150 Million

Ken Rosenthal of Fox.com reports that Johan’s deal is over $150 million dollars which is a record deal for a pitcher. It is much more than Barry Zito’s $126 million deal last year. PLease send a comment to answer this question. Do you think Johan Santana, the team’s ace will start on Opening Day or [...]

Deal done!

I posted under the Ace Santana Toolbar that the extension is done.  I will like to report it here too. Sorry about taking a while about this, I’m just so into watching the news about it. Tomorrow morning is his physical and there is expected to be a press conference next week, not this weekend, because so many reporters are [...]

When will this be done?

Sorry I haven’t posted today. I’ve been watching TV and checking websites. As you probably know, there is a two hour extension, which is 7:00. Mets Blog says that Johan is eating dinner along with his agents and mets officials. Check out the post:http://www.metsblog.com/2008/02/01/news-mets-and-johan-santana-have-a-deal/I’ll post when I find out more information! This better get done!
